Fashion Frenzy Promo vid

December 3, 2011 1 comment

I thought I’d quickly post the promo vid for the Fashion Frenzy, Children in Need fundraiser, which I was recently involved in. I had a great night; my highlights being the Obscure Couture show, Glenda the comedienne, eating cupcakes made by two adorable twins, bumping heads with Masato and the lovely owners of Scarecrow Boutique, and catching up with Anna Gregory again, who had the same enthusiasm and positive vibe/energy about her that I remembered her to have when last seeing her at LFW.

Well done also to N’Damus, Dom of Air, Eve Yasmine, The Cupcake Twins, and many more which I am sure I will remember immediately after posting this 🙂

Ande and her team did a fantastic job, and so did everyone else involved, including those who came down and contributed. So thank you if that was you! xx

Rock The Catwalk with Core Spirit

October 30, 2011 Leave a comment

After attending Rock The Catwalk’s private press launch on behalf of Little Miss Fashion (full write up can be found on the LMF site) I was asked to present their official public launch which took place Wednesday 26th October, with Dirty Media London.

For those who do not know about Rock The Catwalk yet, check out the LMF site. But to brief you quickly; Rock The Catwalk is a fashion event that offers exposure and a free catwalk to designers, make up artists and stylists. All you have to do is simply book your slot online and start preparing for and organizing your show! The catwalk is situated in Core Spirit’s flagship store on the fashionable New Bond St. Shoppers, fashionistas and passers by are able to watch shows as they browse, and see what great talent is out there.  And the opportunities do not stop there; the general public can vote online for their favourite collections, and the most popular will be branded and produced through the Core spirit label. So yep,  it’s quite a big deal and could make the dreams of an ambitious fashion designer come true.

So of course it was a real privilege to be involved with what I believe to be a fantastic fashion event and concept and a huge platform for fashion creatives. I got to interview the designers, the models and of course get feedback from the public. Core Spirit even offer free make overs to the general public, so I hit New Bond St and brought in a load of girls to beautify themselves 🙂 And of course I myself was asked to strut down the catwalk; something I wasn’t expecting but did all the same so as not to be a party pooper hehehe.

I’m really excited about the future of Rock The Catwalk and look forward to seeing some of you at the next one.  Shout out Core Spirit and Dirty Media London  xx

With two fashion graduates after their shows, wearing a Core Spirit jacket I adore!

Great news! I am officially a part of the Little Miss Fashion team! Everyone knows how much I love to write and my passion for fashion is no secret, so being a fashion reporter makes perfect sense. I get to attend great events, meet fantastic people and then share them with you all 🙂 I also get to work with wonderful and inspirational people, like Zoe Yates; founder of Little Miss Fashion. LMF was labelled no.6 fashion site by the Daily Telegraph in the “Top 50 Fashion insiders”.  Recent write ups to look out for include Fashion Mavericks, the Masato launch at Scarecrow Boutique and Rock the Catwalk. If you ♥ Fashion, then check out LMF and follow me on my exciting fashion journey xx

Portia Freno shoots ss12 campaign

So I was the face of Deenola’s latest campaign which involved shooting a 2 part commercial. Check out both parts below xx

Marie Macsharry to debut at LFW

September 13, 2011 Leave a comment

Marie Macsharry casts models for the SS12 collection, named “Kaizen” which will debut at LFW on Saturday 17th September at The Westbury Hotel, Bond St.

The Kaizen range boasts a 20 piece collection, to include dresses and separates. The label aims to show corsetry in a new more wearable light by showing how it can be mixed with MM’S tailored separates in a chic, fashion forward style.

Feminine no longer has to mean demure and vulnerable and the tailored power suit no longer has to be boring and masculine.

The new collection is in keeping with the brand values of femininity and love for the female form but with a slightly more edgy glamour and fashion forward attitude.

Inspiration is drawn from many sources including architecture, nature and origami as well as historic dress. Marie MacSharry also has an interest in surface texture and fabric manipulation so occasionally this will be a focus on the garments.

I have been invited to Marie Macsharry’s debut show at London Fashion Week and look forward to seeing the full collection.

I thought I’d share with you one of the shots from a recent shoot in France. I love how natural the pictures are, free from make up and airbrushing, and how the photographers I worked with have all managed to capture my emotions and character.

The image below, was taken by Terry King.  I hope you like 🙂

Portia Freno and Matteo Castagnoli for Deenola

August 6, 2011 2 comments

I can now officially announce that I am the female face of French rising designer label Deenola. The forthcoming video advertising campaign will see me alongside Deenola’s male muse; hot Italian model Matteo Castagnoli.

Certain websites and papers have been speculating on images of myself and Matteo that are circulating across the web, so it is good to finally confirm and announce to you all the great news.

Deenola is classy, sexy, sophisticated, free. It is all about emotions. When I had my first fitting and slipped on a Deenola dress for the first time, I knew I was a Deenola model. The clothes fit me perfectly, like they were made for me, and every piece caused me to gasp. I cannot wait for you to see the campaign and to really get to know about Deenola.

I was recently seen wearing Deenola during the Manchester stop of my recent tour

You can peep some of the BTS pics from the first part of the video campaign, below.
