Damsel In Distress with No Dress; Can YOU help?

February 23, 2011 3 comments

Dear Everyone,

I am in a slight pickle!! The premier for Anuvahood is only a few weeks away and I still have not decided on a dress! (Let alone even look at shoe options)

I have always been a last minute kinda girl and if I’m honest I didn’t really give it much thought up until now. But I have decided to be more organized! Sooooo for the last couple of days I have used my spare time (which amounts to about 7 minutes, literally) to see what I can find.

I was torn between a gorgeous Alexander Wang design and a stunning piece from Lanvin. My choice was made for me when it turned out that neither was available in my size. *Angry face*.

I am now desperately seeking your help! What should I wear? No doubt my shoes will be from one of my favourite designers, Giuseppe Zanotti, but until I find the perfect dress, how do I find the perfect shoes? Hmmm. Maybe pick shoes first and work around that? Either way, please please please help a sista out. A sista who has no spare time, terrible organizational skills, is very indecisive and will find herself with no chosen dress come the Premier. Please leave suggestions below. I am also very interested in any suggestions of up and coming designers. Looking forward to your thoughts,

Love ya xx

Valentino for Gap

Valentino Fall 10

I can excitedly announce that Valentino will be joining forces with Gap this winter!! I do love Gap for their knitwear and basics, but they do need a little touch of luxury, don’t you think?

Creative directors Maria Grazia Chiui and Pier Paolo Piccioli will work alongside Gap to create an affordable womenswear collection.

After news of Lanvin’s collaboration with H&M, don’t you feel we are being just a little spoiled? But who’s complaining!

However, you will have to fly to Milan if you want first grabs at the hot new collection, as the launch of Valentino’s high st range will coincide with Gap’s new Milan flagship store in November.

Not to worry; if you can practice patience it won’t be long before the collection is also available at Dover st Market, London, Gap’s flagship London store and also for my Parisian readers, Colette in Paris.

Chiuri and Piccioli said,  “We are very pleased that Gap thought of us as a partner for this intimate project, as it brings together the iconic world of Valentino and Gap’s fashion essentials… In this way, Valentino and Gap synthesize the current trend of combining luxury with basics.”

And thanks to Vogue, I can reveal that Stephen Sunnucks, president of Gap in Europe said, “We’re thrilled to be welcomed by the house of Valentino, with its unique position in Italy’s fashion heritage and to work with Maris Grazia and Pier Paolo, and their modern, fresh take on women’s style”.

Gap are not known for their designer collaborations; besides a capsule collection with Pierre Hardy in 2009 and a kids range with Stella McCartney, so I think it is safe to say that this is their biggest collaborative project to date.

And you wondered why my debut fashion post was to say why Winter will be so HOT?

Lanvin to launch lipsticks for H&M!!!

September 8, 2010 Leave a comment

So over a week ago I got you all excited about H&M’s hot collaboration with Lanvin; well it’s just got better. Lanvin’s collection is to now include lipsticks! Besides fragrance, Lanvin hasn’t ventured into cosmetics. So well done H&M!!

H&M haven’t revealed what colours we can expect, but lets face it, Alber will make sure they are hot!

What colours would you like to see? Lets bombard Alber with emails with the hope that he comes out with our favourites!

And we LOVE Lanvin and H&M!!

H&M and Lanvin?? Yes Yes Yes please!

Gotta love H&M; great clothes at even greater prices. I’ve bagged a couple of cute floral dresses, skirts and bags from there recently, and you can always count on them for their vests, t-shirts and cute mini skirts.

And guess what peeps? It’s been reported that LANVIN will be collaborating with the Swedish fashion giant, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’m thinking an edgier, more powerful twist to their current range.

Previous collaborations include Stella McCartney, Sonia Rykiel, Jimmy Choo, Comme des Garcons and Viktor & Rolf; will it soon include Lanvin?

The reports were sparked after H&M posted up two short TEASER videos, leaving everyone speculating on who and what their next collaboration will be… I’m actually quite frustrated, especially after watching the videos; I NEED TO KNOW ASAPPPPP!!

But don’t worry, we don’t have long to wait peeps. Hennes and Mauritz will unveil their new collaborative design project on September 9th.

Well ok, that is just over a week, so we do have a little while to wait…. BUT in the meantime we can drool over Lanvin’s Autumn Winter collection here; gotta love Vogue.com 😉 http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/show.aspx/full-length-photos/id,8850

IS THE VOICE IN THE VIDEO ALBER ELBEZ?? WE HOPE!!
